Floating Gardens: Peter St. Basin Park
Using native wetland plants, these durable floating islands provide wildlife with much-needed habitat, beautify the downtown waterfront, and improve water quality. The result of a partnership with community-focused organisations, these gardens were built and planted with the assistance of volunteers from a local community centre, and have proven popular with local waterfowl and pedestrians on Queen’s Quay.
